"Elizabeth Dovel died Oct. 26, 1896. Widower was Jacob B. Dovel. Children and heirs: Lucy Bowers; Olive Virginia Bowen; Andrew Dovel of Namisteee, Manistee Co., MI; Florida/Florence Bowen; Ben Franklin Dovel; the child of Lydia Ricketts deceased, who was John D. Ricketts, whose wife was Jesse; Lizzie Dovel who was the only child of Elizabeth Morton, deceased."
"The Dovel Farm located on the Ridge road east of Pickerington was originally owned by John Dovel (Elizabeth's father) who purchased the land from James Looker (his father-in-law, Elizabeth's grandfather) to whom the land grant was made. After the death of John Dovel the farm was owned and operated until their death by Jacob and Elizabeth Dovel, who reared a large family, the only surviving member being Frank Dovel of Pickerington, the youngest member of the family."
