| Notes for Elizabeth French |
Between 1631 and 1639 Elizabeth Loker came to Massachusetts with her children and many of her relatives. Children named in her will were Henry, John, Bridgett and Ann the youngest.
"John Parmenter married Bridget--about 1609. He likely married Bridget at Bures St. Mary, but there is a frustrating gap in the parish registers from 1604-1612. Bridget was probably the sister of Elizabeth Loker, the wife of Henry. The parish registers for Bures show there were two pairs of sisters named Bridget and Elizabeth baptized within the appropriate time period. William Perry had daughters Elizabeth and Bridgett baptized in 1586/87 and 1593 respectively. John Simpson had a daughter Bridget baptized in 1585/86 and a daughter Elizabeth in 1588...
In the late 1630's John Parmenter Sr. surrendered his holdings to the lord of the manor and began his journey to the new world. With him went his wife Bridget, children John Jr. and Mary Woods with her husband John. Also included in his party was Elizabeth Loker, the widow of Henry and two of her sons, John and Henry... Our ancestors were part of the over 21,000 people who emmigrated to the English colonies from 1630-1643. By 1639 they and approximately 180 others had settled at Sudbury in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. "
