| Notes for Michael Russell | ||||||||||||||
| Russell Family Research Page http://user.icx.net/~ggrussell/welcome.htm ---------------------------------- dergil2@uswest.net I have a little new (to me) information about the Russell Family. Apparently Michael Russell was originally Michael Rosel. I doubt that the name was Michael, in fact. Anyway, he had property in Bromfield Parish, Culpeper Co. VA. "They" say that he was born probably in Germany or German-speaking Switzerland, that his wife Mary came from the same place and they were probably married there. In his will he leaves to his wife Mary Russell the maner Plantation whereon I now live etc. If you are interested in it all I'll send you a copy. His children, William - his faather gave him 200 acres before 1777 Hannah m. Benajah Rice John m. Jane Reynolds Frances m. James Loker son of Thomas Looker. Elizabeth Russell unmarried Elijah b. Culpeper 15 Aug 1758 Amelia/Milly the youngest b. 1760 d. 1822 Michael Russell appears to have been a Man of Property. Will send you all I have if you like.
